The Johannesburg Musical Society features a superb virtuoso violinist and 3 French masterpieces on Sunday 7 June.

Turkish-Azerbaijani violin virtuoso Elvin Hoxha Ganiyev will be playing three great sonatas from the French repertoire of the late 19th and early 20th centuries in the Linder Auditorium in Parktown on Sunday 7 June at 15:00.

Ganiyev, who performs regularly in the company of such famous musicians as Zubin Mehta, Vladimir Ashkenazy and Fazil Say, will be partnered by impressive South African pianist Francois du Toit. Together they will play three masterpieces from the French repertoire – sonatas by Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel and Cesar Franck. Each sonata has a distinct personality, and each is recognised as key to the violin/piano repertoire.

The concert takes place in the Linder Auditorium, on the Wits Education Campus in St Andrews Road, Parktown.

Starting time is 15:00 and the box office opens at 14:00.
