South African State Theatre presents Tribute to the Fallen Legends: A Celebration of Music, Memory and Legacy.

The South African State Theatre (SAST) presents Tribute to the Fallen Legends, a special celebration of African music taking place on 22 November 2026 at the Drama Theatre. The three-hour musical experience honours late artists whose voices, artistry and contribution helped define generations and shape Africa’s musical landscape.

Through powerful performances and rich harmonies, Tribute to the Fallen Legends brings audiences together to celebrate the music and memories left behind by artists who may be gone, but whose creative legacies continue to live through the songs they gave us.

Rooted in jazz, the production promises an evening of music, memory and celebration, reminding audiences of the extraordinary ability of music to transcend generations. It is not simply about remembering those who have passed, but about keeping their artistic spirit alive – in song, style and performance.

Directed by Mandla Ntlatlane, with Thulani Sethela as choreographer, Khola Phalatse as assistant director and Chris Tsebe responsible for costume, the production brings together a large ensemble of performers for this musical tribute.

On 22 November, audiences are invited to gather at the Drama Theatre to sing, remember and celebrate the legends whose music continues to soundtrack our lives.

Their voices may have fallen silent, but their music lives on.
