SAST TV Is changing the game with a new wave of South African productions.

The South African State Theatre is bringing a fresh wave of theatre, music and dance to audiences through SAST TV, its established digital platform that continues to take South African creative work beyond the traditional theatre space.

With its bold new slogan, “Changing the Game,” SAST TV is creating new possibilities for audiences to experience South African stories, artists and performances wherever they are.

The latest programme introduces four exciting productions to the platform, offering audiences a diverse journey across drama, music and dance. The new releases include Tsogo, Nyoni’Lenhle, Kganya and Mandla Ntlaks, which will be released progressively from August through September 2026.

These new productions join an expanding SAST TV catalogue that already offers audiences a rich selection of work across genres.

Audiences can revisit the powerful dance production Moholo, experience Suited for Each Other, or discover productions such as Thaba Bosiu, Marikana and Shaka Zulu. The platform also offers Freedom – The Musical, That Night of Trans, Endumbeni, Speaking from Experience and the children’s production Elephant’s Dream.

For lovers of music and contemporary performance, the platform also features content such as Deep House and Mckenzie, while dance audiences can explore works including Ranavalona III, The Chrysalis Queen and Izilo.

SAST TV also continues to document and preserve significant moments in South Africa’s arts landscape, including its coverage of the National Arts Festival 2026.

A digital stage for a changing creative landscape The new releases are not a launch of SAST TV. They represent the next chapter in an established platform that is continually expanding its catalogue and finding new ways to connect artists with audiences.

For the South African State Theatre, digital access is an opportunity to ensure that compelling South African work can travel further than the physical auditorium.

A production presented in Pretoria can reach audiences across the country and beyond. A performance that once existed for a limited run can continue to find new audiences through digital streaming.

SAST TV is therefore not simply recording performances. It is helping to build a digital archive, audience platform and additional stage for South African creativity.

As Tsogo, Nyoni’Lenhle, Kganya and Mandla Ntlaks join the platform, audiences can expect more stories, more artists and more reasons to keep coming back.
