Part-time Dance Post Vacancy at the NSA

The National School of the Arts (NSA) has a vacancy for a part-time GDE dance teacher to commence at the beginning of the second term.

The successful applicant must be equipped to teach African Dance, Creative Arts and Dance Studies from Grade 8 – 12 with a special focus on African Dance. The incumbent will be expected to have a thorough knowledge of all aspects of the curriculum.

Minimum Qualification: A Bachelor of Arts or any relevant REQV13 qualification or a PGCE.

All applicants must be SACE registered. A professional career in the performing Arts and previous teaching experience will be an advantage.

The successful candidate should be a good team player, willing to work outside of the regular school hours and be an enthusiastic participant in the school’s cultural programme. Passion, patience, and an ability to motivate and inspire, alongside a firm grip on discipline, will enable the incumbent to thrive in the specialist art school environment.

With a history that spans 50 years, the National School of the Arts is South Africa’s oldest public-funded School of Specialisation in Performing and Creative Arts. Situated in Braamfontein, Johannesburg, the NSA is a Gauteng Department of Education School.
