The National School of the Arts is looking for a full-time Mathematics/Mathematical literacy Teacher to commence in the 3rd Term – 21 July 2026.

Interested applicants must have a requisite degree or diploma in the relevant subject, a professional teaching qualification (PGCE), SACE registration and Police Clearance. Previous teaching experience and a genuine interest in the arts will be an advantage!

Full-time SGB post.
Starting Date: 21 July 2026

The successful applicant will teach Mathematics (Grade 8-9) and Mathematical Literacy (Grade 10-11). The incumbent must have prior experience in teaching Mathematical Literacy and should be a good team player, willing to work outside regular school hours, when necessary, and be an enthusiastic participant in the School’s cultural programme. Passion, patience, and an ability to motivate and inspire, alongside a firm grip on discipline, will see the incumbent thriving in the specialist art school environment.

With a history spanning over 50 years, the National School of the Arts is South Africa’s oldest public-funded School of Specialisation in Performing and Creative Arts.

The National School of the Arts, situated in Braamfontein, Johannesburg, is a Gauteng Department of Education School.
