Brushing the dust off the Johannesburg Musical Society
Music lovers in desperate need of some live music will be delighted to hear that the Johannesburg Musical Society – in recess for over a year – has arranged a concert for Sunday 18 April at 16:00.
The artists will be Anmari van der Westhuizen (cello) and Anneke Lamont (piano). They will do a shortish programme – just over an hour – without an interval (Beethoven, Brahms and David Popper’s Fantasy on a Little Russian Song).
Since protocols dictate a limited audience, the Johannesburg Musical Society (JMS) asks that you inform them if you plan to come. There is ample space for social distancing in the Linder and audience members can sit anywhere they desire as long as they ensure that there are a couple of empty seats on either side of them. Seating will be on a first come/first served basis and will be limited to 150 people.
Masks are compulsory and all public spaces at the Linder Auditorium will be carefully cleaned.
In the interests of social distancing, there will be no box office – seats will simply cost R100, no matter where you sit, and programmes will be free to all. Audience members are asked to advise the JMS (firstname.lastname@example.org) and do an EFT into the JMS bank account, using surnames as a reference. The details are as follows:
Account Name : Johannesburg Musical Society
Bank : Standard Bank
Account Number : 001805908
